I have done work on some public APIs, among them Facebook, YouTube and Netflix. I did a couple of applications on Facebook, one named The Scream that lists messages sent to friends that normally you don't know about, and another called BusyPoster. It displays 'Likes' from friends.
I managed to implement YouTube's API and the Zend Framework with the example below, YTsearch. Click on the thumbnail or hyperlink on the search results to play a video.
flixCrawl is a Netflix search utility that lets you add to your queue and delete titles. It's very much in beta; very simple and straightforward. I am not authenticating during searches or keeping personal data in database thus, the 5,000 cap limit per day spreads on everybody that day. You'll get a message when the limit is reached. This application is a proof of concept.
Twitter News is a script that grabs headlines posted to Twitter by major news agencies. In its final format, this script emails this information to the user. Sources of news are customized to the user's area of interest.
Twitter People is similar to Twitter News but sources of information are Entertainment and Showbiz magazines in Spanish.

The multimedia samples above are works addressing different interests of mine and friends. One of these friends is Francisco, a very talented ten years old boy whom I helped editing his production, Panda City. He drew it, came up with the story and selected the sound effects going with it.
I did a portfolio of drawings I have done lately, in the form of an image carousel. Hovering over an image pauses it. Please take a look.
I'll be adding to this page some graphic work I am doing, commercial in scope.
PRICES for websites.
I have advertised a general pricing structure in the past and the message doesn't come through as I thought. The fact is, each site is different. Budgets come in all sizes, people have different expectations, maintenance time schedules, etc. A website can be built on a shoestring budget up to, well, quite a lot. How much, do you think, does it cost to maintain 'univision.com,' daily? So I am not going to discourage people by setting a pricing structure. A landing page with a minimum of features is inexpensive these days. Factor in, though, ISP hosting costs, domain name purchase, database back-end, some web form programming, fancy menus, Flash animation, sound player, semantic follow-ups for search engines' positioning and, at the end, the cost of your website will go up indeed. If you want a return of your investment, you'll have to take into account the fact that your website will need persistent content updates and optimization as well. Building your website is half of the process. The other half is working on its content to keep it fresh, offering your clients something new as often a possible.
So, please, if you are thinking of having a website, send me an email or call my cellular phone. I'll be happy to discuss yur particular needs and quote you a price, or tell you what can be done within budget.
PRICES for WordPress
installation and configuration begin at $75 per hour.
Because most people are using WordPress as a CMS nowadays, I strongly recommend my clients to install a development version on a local computer prior to deploying to an ISP.
It's the safest way to try new themes, plugins, menu configurations, etc.
This setup becomes even more important with time as all critical updates take place on a local environment first before deployment.
It also works as a backup system in case something goes wrong with the ISP.
On Windows computers WAMP server has worked very well for me. On MAC and Linux - Apache, MySQL, PHP - is my standard configuration prior to WordPress installation.
A typical full local configuration costs about $300.
